The Eliza satchel handbag
The search for the perfect bag...does it really exist? Short answer, maybe----long answer, every chapter of your life is stored somewhere.

Likely, many perfect bags, based on that chapter.Think about the very first handbag you owned. Was it big, small, crossbody + clutch. Mine was a re-usable lululemon bag that I got after a purchase. I wasn't much of a handbag carrier. Growing up, my mom used to say things like, you know you should probably think about a purse or what about a fun little crossbody bag....this was pre-cell phones...what did we need to carry? Car keys....chapstick?

It wasn't until I was out of the diaper bag chapter that my husband suggested I go find a nice "professional" looking handbag---and that's when my search began. Except I couldn't find one...so I made one.

What "bag" chapter am in currently? I think I am obsessed with our newest style, the Eliza. Why? I think the size has me smitten---I can carry all my work stuff + a little (or a lot) extra, depending on my mood. I am a big bag carrier, whether I try to downsize or not....the truth is I never want to be without...any of it. So I go big or go home when it comes to handbags.

I love the satchel carry of the Eliza---it is simply an easy shoulder carry + satchel carry. AND if I didn't mention my absolute favorite detail--the top stitch...totally the best detail on just about anything. Pretty sure I would tattoo a top-stitch on my skin if it would look as cool.

Leather PlacematsIn September, we traveled to Washington D.C. for the annual Inns of Court reunion---this awesome organization that my hubby is part of.

We toured the city, the supreme court, the department of justice + the Smithsonians in-between.

Each morning we ate in the restaurant at our hotel + every morning, the host sat us in the same sweet little table in front of the window.

Looking outside the view was spectacular, the streets bustling, commuters coming or going. Taxis, scooters + fast walkers all heading to begin their days.

Looking inside, the view was just as elaborate---the dining room was traditional with an edgy flair, marble tops + tufted hair-on-hide, high-back seating + heavy curtain draped booths that allowed for quiet meetings. Folks in suits + ties, meeting + discussing + us, taking it all in---one sip of coffee at a time.

Every morning our table was beautifully set with a pair of leather placemats---different colors for different days + of course all the normal settings.

My intense focus was on these beautifully worn placemats. What meals have they seen, what meetings + conversations were they part of?

Now, I sit at my own kitchen table with my coffee seated perfectly on our leather placemats--I have the turquoise ones. Durable, colorful + full of beautiful leather grain + character. Something that will stand the test of time through all the morning coffees + all the holidays to come!

THE JACKIEAs each year passes by, I notice a handbag/clutch that I continuely go back to----or sneak one from the latest collection release.
