WHEN did it start. Around March 2015 we began working on the construction + prototyping our leather handbags. It did start before that, but it was out of necessity. You see, I had been carrying a re-usable grocery bag for my purse + my husband encouraged me to go + find a new handbag for my birthday. We were finally out of the "carrying everything in the diaper bag" stage of hauling, so I went on the hunt for the perfect handbag.

Little to my surprise, I couldn't find one. One that made sense --- good design, light-weight, classic, timeless, high-quality. So I gave up looking...AND decided to make my own. The first one I made was in canvas, because my sewing machine was not heavy duty enough to handle much more.

I sold that first handbag right off my body while in line for coffee at an art teacher conference. That's when I realized that others may be like me --- looking for something designed + made well, that was timeless + fun.

AND that is WHY I started making handbags.
